Where to stay in Beirut
This guide is area-based. We do not rank named hotels in the first version. Choose a neighbourhood that matches your plans — waterfront walks, museums, nightlife or quieter stays — and always check current travel advice rather than descriptions that call an area “completely safe”.
Neighbourhood character
• Hamra: busy, walkable, shops and cafés; central for many city errands. • Raouché / Ain El Mreisseh / Manara: sea views and Corniche access; often lively evenings. • Verdun: residential-commercial mix; shopping focus. • Achrafieh: varied streets, dining and residential character. • Gemmayzeh / Mar Mikhael: nightlife and dining density; can be noisy at night. • Badaro: cafés and a calmer evening feel for many visitors. • Downtown: reconstructed centre, landmarks and shopping; quieter overnight in some blocks.
Approximate airport transfer times vary; see Airport Transportation.
Choosing for families and accessibility
Ask your accommodation about lifts, step-free access, cots and quiet rooms. For airport disability assistance, see Airport Guide → Disabled Facilities. We will add named hotel listings only when verification, de-listing and sponsorship labelling are in place.
